Roadside Verge, Kennel Lane, Witherley

Immediately opposite the site of the Roman fortress of Mancetter, the favoured site for the defeat of Boudica, Kennel Lane joins the Roman highway Watling Street which today is the busy A5. Almost immediately on the right hand side is this roadside wildlife garden, with its benches, bird feeders, bug hotels, hedgehog houses and other items. I stood and surveyed the scene for a few minutes before realising that I wasn't hearing the thundering traffic, despite its proximity. It was a lovely spot.
